Each permit issued requires an application. If you have two cars that you wish to park on the street, you must fill out two permit applications. An annual fee of $20.00 will be charged for each permit that must accompany the application. These permits must be affixed by their own adhesive to the inside of a window on the driver's side of the vehicle. The permits are valid from April 1, 2024, through November 31, 2024. Enforcement will begin on April 1, 2024.

No permit issued for overnight parking shall be deemed to supersede any other local, state or federal parking regulation, or to permit parking as otherwise prohibited by Glendale Code.

  • Permits shall be valid only for streets within a residential zoning district.
  • Permits shall be granted only to vehicles registered, leased, or assigned to the occupant of a residence within the City of Glendale.
  • Permits shall be issued only for vehicles displaying valid automobile license plates, or for motor trucks not larger than 21 feet in length, 7 feet in width, and 7 feet in height, which are not used for commercial purposes.
  • No person shall park any vehicle between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any street or alley in the City of Glendale, except by annual permit.
care

Maintenance: Keep up with car maintenance to reduce leaks of oil, coolant, antifreeze and other hazardous fluids. A single quart of motor oil can pollute 250,000 gallons of drinking water. Residents may dispose of used motor oil by bringing it to the Department of Public Works garage. An attendant is on duty from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please enter from North Glen Park Road on the north end of the building.

Washing: Be “green” when washing your car. Skip the home carwash and take your car to a professional carwash as they’re required to treat the water before it is discharged. This spares our local rivers and lakes from the brake fluid, oil, and automotive fluids that could otherwise contaminate our water. Many carwashes also recycle their wastewater and use less than half the amount of water a home carwash does. Ask around to find a carwash that practices wastewater recycling. Alternatively, you can “wash” your car at home using a waterless carwash product [The Best Waterless Car Wash Sprays, Tested—Car and Driver].

plants
Consider planting native plants this year! They offer numerous benefits, including improved infiltration, natural pest resistance, and reduced water needs. Native plants' deep root systems act as nature's filtration system, trapping and absorbing pollutants before they reach our water sources. This natural process significantly reduces the harmful chemicals that can contaminate our streams, rivers, and lakes. This is because unlike non-native counterparts, native plants thrive without the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. By eliminating these harmful substances from our gardening practices, we prevent them from leaching into our waterways during heavy rains, preserving our freshwater ecosystem!
