Silver Spring Drive Corridor Improvements

Silver Spring Drive is an important corridor which supports jobs and economic needs of residents in Milwaukee and Glendale. In 1995, the City of Glendale created the West Silver Spring Drive Neighborhood Vision Plan.  This plan led to the redevelopment of multiple parcels along the corridor, updated the infrastructure, and streetscape beautification.

The road and amenities were constructed more than 25 years ago, and many elements need repair or rehabilitation.  In 2023, the City of Glendale received federal funding to upgrade this corridor with an emphasis on improving traffic and pedestrian safety and reliability. Glendale is currently seeking additional funding for the project.

To begin the project, the Cities of Glendale and Milwaukee will jointly host a public open house to present potential improvements and gather public input to plan the next 25 years for this critical corridor.

The preliminary information for the Silver Spring Reconstruction Project is enclosed.  The design is subject to change based on review from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the City of Milwaukee or further review by Glendale Officials.
