As of 2015, the City of Glendale continues to be recognized as a Bird City Wisconsin community. Bird City recognizes and supports communities that work to conserve and protect birds within our environment. The City strives to preserve the wildlife habitat and bird conservation within our community.
Annually, World Migratory Bird Day, often celebrated on the second Saturday in May in the US and Canada (e.g., May 9, 2026), highlights migratory bird conservation. It is an awareness-raising campaign focused on the need for conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Celebrations include bird festivals, educational workshops, bird-watching trips, and events at schools and nature centers.
